Info
A wonderfully spiced Cajun blend that recreates flavour from the deep south of America, perfect for adding wow to your vegan BBQ
Ingredients
Method
Ingredients
- 350g extra firm tofu (sliced lengthwise)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for grilling)
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1.5 tbsp honey
- 1tsp Bart cajun seasoning
- 1tsp Bart garlic granules
- 1tsp Bart rock salt,
Method
- Drain the tofu by wrapping the block in kitchen towel and placing between 2 large plates. Add a small bag of flour or rice to the top plate for 15 to 20 minutes to squeeze out the excess moisture.
- Slice the tofu lengthwise into 6 slices.
- In a bowl, mix together 1 1/2 tablespoons of the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, Bart Cajun seasoning blend, Bart garlic granules and salt. Place the tofu in the marinade and leave for at least 15 minutes or cover and marinate overnight in the fridge.
- Over a medium to high BBQ, place the tofu slices on the grill and drizzle some of the marinade on top. Cook the tofu until you see grill marks appear (around 2 to 3 minutes). Turn the tofu over, drizzle with some more marinade and cook for a further 2 to 3 minutes.
- Heat up the remaining marinade in a saucepan and drizzle the sauce over the grilled tofu for added flavour, serve the Cajun spiced tofu slices with grilled vegetables for a delicious vegan BBQ meal.
TIP: you can switch in smoked tofu, if you want a richer, smokier flavour.
