Baharat Spiced Shakshuka
Shakshuka made effortless with our Baharat spiced tomato paste. Perfectly runny eggs nestled in a rich tomato and red pepper sauce, served with fresh herbs and crusty bread for the ultimate comforting brunch.
Method
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and red pepper, stirring often, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Baharat-spiced tomato paste and cook for another minute to release its flavors. Pour in the tinned tomatoes, breaking them down with a spoon. Season with salt and pepper, then let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Using a spoon, create six small wells in the sauce and carefully crack in the eggs. Cook for 5-8 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks remain runny.
- Garnish generously with fresh parsley and coriander, then serve with warm, crusty bread for dipping.
