Mulled Wine

This quick easy Mulled wine is essential for seasonal gatherings.

INGREDIENTS

1 bottle red wine
3 Bart cloves
1 Bart cinnamon stick
2 Bart star anise
1/2 tsp Bart nutmeg
1 orange (zest only, finely pared)
1 lemon (zest only, finely pared)
100g caster sugar

METHOD

  1. Place the wine, cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise, nutmeg, orange and lemon zest in a pan. Heat gently until just below boiling then remove from the heat and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Return to a low heat. Stir in the sugar then strain and serve immediately.
