Baked pears in clove syrup

4 Pears (peeled)
4tbsp Clear honey
1tbsp Caster sugar
300ml Water
6 Bart cloves

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 200c/Gas 6. Put the pears into a baking dish.
  2. Heat the honey, sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour over the pears and add the cloves.
  3. Bake the pears for 1 hour until tender, turning in the syrup from time to time.
  4. Remove the pears and keep warm. Discard the cloves. Boil the syrup for a few minutes until reduced and thickened. Pour over the pears and serve.
